About us

Bagri Foundation focuses on cultivating a meaningful space for Asian culture to thrive, seeking to shift perspectives and form deeper connections.

We support unique and high-quality programmes, celebrating artistic excellence which showcases traditional and contemporary Asian culture. Our aim is to upend existing notions of Asia and provide opportunities for new artistic presentations that sit equal amongst predominant Western narratives.

Welcome to the Bagri Samaya Series Inter-Waves Application portal.

Inter-Waves is a one-day gathering of artists, presenters, producers, and cultural organisations working across the UK, Asia, and international contexts to reflect on current approaches to artistic collaboration, mobility, and cultural exchange. Through a series of panel discussions and open conversations, the event explores how organisations sustain artistic practices, build international partnerships, and respond to shifting cultural landscapes.

Bringing together ESEA and South Asian arts organisations, international delegates, and UK-based presenters, Inter-Waves creates a space for sharing different production models, programming approaches, and collaborative strategies across local and transnational contexts. The event aims to encourage dialogue, exchange, and future connections between artists and organisations working across borders and disciplines.  We encourage you to share your thoughts with this cohort in a safe space, where we will listen and learn from one another.

Inter-Waves is co-produced by Kakilang and New Earth Theatre and presented in partnership with the Bagri Foundation as part of the Bagri Samaya Series.

* Note, there are 30 available spaces on this programme, therefore we will be unable to accommodate all of our applicants. Our final selection will aim to have a good spread of experience levels, backgrounds and types of live art.
